• Energy Recovery desalination installations will supply over 1.5 million cubic meters of fresh water per day to Saudi Arabia.
  • The combined plants will save an estimated 1,463 GWh/year, preventing 706,485 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

SAN LEANDRO, Calif. – November 17, 2025Energy Recovery (NASDAQ: ERII) today announced significant project wins in Saudi Arabia, with multiple PX® Pressure Exchanger® (PX) energy recovery devices to be installed in seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plants across the region. The orders, valued at nearly $33 million, are expected to be fulfilled by the end of 2025.

Saudi Arabia, a desert nation with no permanent rivers or lakes and minimal annual rainfall, relies heavily on desalination for its fresh water supply. Once completed, Energy Recovery’s installations will help deliver more than 1.5 million cubic meters of fresh water per day. All projects will utilize Energy Recovery’s industry-leading PX Q400.

“Saudi Arabia continues to build an impressive portfolio of plants to meet rising water demand driven by population and industrial growth,” said Rodney Clemente, Senior Vice President of Water at Energy Recovery. “Energy Recovery’s unmatched market leadership in desalination, along with our proven record of innovation and reliability, makes us the ideal partner for nations seeking efficient and sustainable fresh water production. We will continue to drive developments that will help the industry reach new benchmarks with respect to minimizing the energy intensity of global desalination technologies.”

Energy Recovery’s PX can reduce energy consumption by up to 60% in SWRO desalination facilities and achieves up to 98% efficiency. The combined plants in Saudi Arabia are expected to save approximately 1,463 GWh annually, preventing 706,485 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
