The PX Combo pairs the PX Pressure Exchanger, the most widely adopted energy recovery device in reverse osmosis, with the HP high-pressure booster pump in a single, purpose-built package. Together they form one highly efficient solution for seawater RO applications where space is at a premium. Sized for brine flow capacities from 45 to 300 gpm (10 to 68 m³/h), the PX Combo integrates into new builds, modular and containerized plants, and retrofits of any legacy ERD.
A Complete, Simple & Flexible Solution
The PX Combo delivers a single-source pairing of the PX Pressure Exchanger and HP booster pump in one matched system, with a smaller footprint and fewer parts than equivalent solutions. Because the PX and HP booster pumps are sized and paired as a single unit, designers specify one part number rather than engineering two products to work in series.
The system requires only 20 micron filtration, compared to 5 micron for competing equipment. All major components are corrosion resistant and standardized with Superduplex or better materials. A lightweight design reduces weight by up to 50% versus competitive solutions. Multiple configurations accommodate various system designs and arrangements, and the PX Combo pairs directly with Energy Recovery high-pressure pumps such as the CPXP™ axial piston pump. For higher flow demands, parallel configurations provide scalability.
One Combined Solution For New RO System Builds and Retrofits
Inside the PX Combo, the PX Pressure Exchanger transfers hydraulic energy directly from the high-pressure brine stream to the lowpressure feed stream. The matched HP booster pump then brings the feed stream up to membrane pressure. Because the PX and HP booster are designed to work together, the PX Combo can replace any legacy ERD configuration or be specified into a new train without third-party integration.
